PANDAmonia & Chengdu

PANDAmonia & Chengdu

Let’s be clear what PANDAmonia means. China makes millions of dollars off the Pandas. After all, they are cute, they are beautiful, and they are unique to China. What’s not to like. If you go to Chengdu you are going for one of two reasons, Pandas and it’s got the largest population of gays in China. So, what about these Panda creatures. First off, can we say the people of Chengdu are proud of their Pandas?

Everywhere you look there are Pandas. Cars, statues, toys, cartoons (they love Kung Fu Panda, Disney made a hit in China). Did I mention stuffed toys?

So, here’s the real thing – At the Panda sanctuary, they have Pandas. Lots of Pandas

A little about shopping malls and China. In Chengdu, Sarah (pictured below… one of the best guides ever!!!) took us to the IFS mall. Like all the malls we went into in China, besides the Panda climbing up the building, these malls are high end. Beautiful shops, restaurants and anything else you can think of. Sarah brought us here to get a picture of the Panda, but every mall we went to was great. Below are pictures of the top floor, a grassy park with a Ruth Christ’s steak house. Just to be clear, I loved that picture of Sarah (hope she doesn’t mind me using it). She was fun, super informative and all around a great guide.

Here’s the inside and the top floor –
